TotalEnergies to Power Airbus Sites in Germany and UK via New PPA

The deal underscores a deepening partnership between the two industrial giants, following a previous agreement focused on sustainable aviation fuel. According to the companies, the electricity supplied will feature a baseload profile, ensuring a steady energy flow by leveraging TotalEnergies’ integrated portfolio of renewable and flexible assets. This structure is designed to provide the reliability required for large-scale aerospace manufacturing while insulating operations from energy market volatility.

Decarbonizing Industrial Operations

Florent Massou dit Labaquère, EVP of Operations at Airbus, stated that these contracts are essential to the company’s holistic approach to operational resilience. By securing long-term access to low-carbon energy, Airbus aims to stabilize its energy costs while moving toward its broader emissions reduction targets. The agreement joins a growing list of corporate power purchase agreements (PPAs) managed by TotalEnergies, which currently serves major clients including:

• Google, Microsoft, and Amazon
• Air Liquide and LyondellBasell
• STMicroelectronics, Orange, and Sasol

The French energy major continues to pivot its business model toward a diversified power portfolio. As of October 2025, TotalEnergies reported more than 32 GW of installed gross renewable capacity. The company aims to reach 100 TWh of net electricity production by 2030, integrating solar and wind power with flexible assets like storage and combined-cycle gas turbines to deliver "firm" power solutions to its global industrial base. The new contracts with Airbus, spanning into the next decade, are expected to contribute positively to the profitability of TotalEnergies' growing electricity division in the United Kingdom and Germany.
