The Japanese logistics provider saw its net income fall from ¥582.00 million during the same period last year, according to the latest financial filing. This bottom-line contraction resulted in earnings per share of ¥65.95, down from ¥76.17 a year ago. The results, which cover the nine months ended December 31, 2024, were prepared in accordance with Japanese accounting standards.
Pressure on Operating Margins
While the company successfully grew its revenue to ¥19.76 billion from ¥19.38 billion, the gains were offset by higher operational expenses. Operating profit retreated to ¥823.00 million, compared to ¥875.00 million in the previous year. The data suggests that the firm faced a challenging environment in maintaining profitability amid fluctuating logistics and storage costs.
Pretax profit experienced a more pronounced decline, dropping to ¥789.00 million from ¥946.00 million. Despite the dip in performance across most earnings metrics, Kawanishi Warehouse maintained its steady revenue stream, highlighting resilient demand for its core services in the domestic market.
