The company posted a net profit of ¥116 million, a sharp increase from the ¥59 million recorded during the same period the previous year. This bottom-line growth translated to earnings per share of ¥66.13, up from ¥33.15. While the net figures showed strength, other metrics indicated a more challenging environment for the group's core operations.
Divergence in Revenue and Operating Income
Consec’s revenue fell to ¥7.22 billion, down from ¥7.80 billion a year earlier. This decline in volume contributed to an operating loss of ¥53 million, a significant reversal from the ¥31 million operating profit reported in the prior year. Pretax profit also saw a downward trend, sliding to ¥50 million from ¥78 million. The results, prepared under Japanese accounting standards, highlight a period where non-operating factors or tax adjustments likely bolstered the final net result despite the operational shortfall. Consec, which trades on the Tokyo market, remains focused on navigating these fluctuating margins as it concludes its fiscal year.
