Chief Executive Adam Norwitt attributed the performance to organic growth across most end markets, specifically noting the high demand within the IT datacom space. This momentum pushed the company to raise its guidance, with fourth-quarter sales projected between $10.3 billion and $10.5 billion, comfortably outpacing analyst estimates of $9.77 billion. Shares responded to the news with a 6.3% climb to $83.11 in pre-market trading.
The company’s growth strategy centers on integrating four new entities, including the recently closed purchase of Michigan-based Empire Electronics. Amphenol has also secured deals for AdvancedPCB, Dexgreen, and Humanetics Sensors, all to be funded through a mix of cash and debt. While these acquisitions signal a long-term expansion, the current full-year outlook incorporates only the Empire deal; the remaining transactions are expected to close by early next year.
Beyond expansion, management is prioritizing capital returns. The board authorized a 20% dividend hike to 15 cents per share and unveiled a new $4 billion stock-buyback program spanning the next three years. These moves come as the company continues to outperform, with full-year sales projections now sitting at $37.1 billion, well above the $35.67 billion forecast by analysts.
