Rock Field Co. Profits Slide Amid Rising Costs

A sharp contraction in profitability defined Rock Field Co.’s fiscal year ending April 30, as the Japanese food retailer saw its net profit plummet to 98 million yen from 329 million yen the previous year, marking a significant downturn in bottom-line performance despite relatively stable top-line revenue figures.

Rock Field Co. Profits Slide Amid Rising Costs

The company reported annual revenue of 51.10 billion yen, nearly mirroring the 51.18 billion yen generated in 2025. This stagnation in sales, coupled with rising operational pressures, stifled growth throughout the period. Operating profit fell to 780 million yen from 1.24 billion yen, while pretax profit dropped to 800 million yen compared to 1.30 billion yen in the prior fiscal cycle.

Earnings per share reflected this overall decline, sliding to 3.79 yen from 12.60 yen. These results, prepared under Japanese accounting standards, underscore the financial headwinds currently facing the firm as it struggles to maintain margins in a challenging retail environment.
