Subaru Enterprise Profits Slip in First Quarter

A 12 percent decline in net profit marks a challenging start to the fiscal year for Subaru Enterprise Co. Ltd. The Japanese firm reported a net profit of 1.08 billion yen for the quarter ending April 30, down from the 1.23 billion yen recorded during the same period in 2025.

Despite a modest uptick in top-line growth, with revenue climbing to 7.97 billion yen from 7.83 billion yen a year earlier, the company faced significant pressure on its bottom line. Operating profit fell to 1.56 billion yen from 1.80 billion yen, while pretax profit dropped to 1.58 billion yen compared to 1.82 billion yen in the prior year. Consequently, earnings per share retreated to 83.35 yen from 95.13 yen. These results, calculated under Japanese accounting standards, reflect rising costs that outpaced the firm's revenue gains during the three-month period.
