The company will raise prices by $60 per short ton for all grades of uncoated recycled paperboard, effective for new orders and shipments starting July 6. Simultaneously, Greif is applying a minimum 6.5% surcharge to its tube, core, and protective-packaging portfolio, with those adjustments taking effect on July 13.
Management linked the decision to higher operational overheads, though the firm also noted a distinct uptick in demand for recycled paperboard products. These hikes arrive as broader U.S. economic indicators show year-over-year inflation reaching 4.2% in May, a three-year peak driven largely by surging energy costs.
