Corn sales reached 1.93 million metric tons across the 2025/26 and 2026/27 marketing years, exceeding the high-end estimates from Wall Street Journal analysts by approximately 130,000 tons. Wheat performance also remained strong, with 666,300 tons sold for the 2026/27 period, supplemented by 298,600 tons rolled over from the previous cycle.
Soybean activity, however, arrived on the lower end of forecasted ranges at 352,800 tons. Notably, China—a central figure in recent agricultural trade agreements—was absent from the list of leading buyers for the week. As traders await the USDA’s monthly WASDE report, CBOT grain futures trended lower on Thursday, reflecting a cautious market posture ahead of the data release.
