However, pretax profit strengthened to 1.13 billion yen, up from 1.03 billion yen previously.
Earnings per share rose to 188.17 yen from 167.51 yen, while diluted earnings reached 183.27 yen compared to 161.33 yen in the prior cycle. These figures, prepared under Japanese accounting standards, reflect a period of improved profitability despite the decline in top-line revenue.
