Daisui Profits Rise on Strong Revenue Growth in Nine-Month Results

Osaka-based seafood wholesaler Daisui Co. Ltd. reported a steady increase in net profit for the nine months ended December 31, bolstered by a significant expansion in top-line revenue. The company’s net income climbed to 660 million yen, up from 643 million yen during the same period last year, as operating margins showed resilience.

Daisui Profits Rise on Strong Revenue Growth in Nine-Month Results

The company’s financial trajectory remained positive across all primary metrics during the reporting period. Total revenue reached 81.57 billion yen, a marked increase from the 76.50 billion yen recorded a year prior. This growth in sales volume successfully translated to the bottom line, with operating profit rising to 797 million yen compared to 699 million yen in the previous cycle.

Growth in Pretax Earnings and Per-Share Value

Pretax profits also saw a healthy uptick, reaching 938 million yen against 831 million yen in the prior year. On a per-share basis, earnings improved to 48.58 yen, up from 47.61 yen. According to the company’s official filing, these results are based on Japanese accounting standards and reflect the group's consolidated operations through the end of the 2024 calendar year.

While the net profit margin expansion was modest, the stronger operating performance suggests that the wholesaler managed to navigate fluctuating supply costs and logistics pressures effectively. The results highlight Daisui's stable position within the Japanese food distribution network during a period of shifting consumer demand.
