Sanctioned A7 Network Launches USDT-to-SWIFT Payment Service

The A7 international settlement platform is rolling out a new service allowing clients to pay foreign invoices using Tether’s USDT, which is then converted into traditional bank transfers via SWIFT. The launch follows aggressive U.S. sanctions targeting the network over alleged involvement in $17 billion of illicit financial flows.

Sanctioned A7 Network Launches USDT-to-SWIFT Payment Service

A7 International, set to debut on October 13, will charge a 0.3% fee for processing transactions between digital assets and conventional currency. While the platform targets businesses engaged in cross-border trade, individual users remain eligible to access the service. Despite the integration of stablecoins, the company has remained silent on which banks will handle the final settlements or how the underlying currency conversions will be executed.

This expansion arrives just weeks after the U.S. Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control designated the A7 Network as a significant transnational criminal organization. Authorities allege the infrastructure utilized shell companies and falsified trade documents to bypass sanctions for Russian and Iranian entities. Petr Fradkov of PSB Bank and A7 CEO Ilan Shor are slated to present the new mechanism, yet the company has not clarified how this service will navigate the existing U.S. restrictions or which jurisdictions will support the initial rollout.
