The Japanese utility's revenue fell to ¥561.03 billion for the three-quarter period, representing a significant drop from the ¥617.99 billion recorded a year earlier. According to the company's financial disclosure, this decline contributed to a lower earnings-per-share figure of ¥234.48, down from the previous ¥240.94.
Resilience in Operating Income
In a notable display of cost management, Shikoku Electric maintained an operating profit of ¥65.34 billion, identical to the figure reported in the same nine-month window last year. However, the stability at the operating level did not fully translate to pretax earnings, which slipped to ¥65.34 billion from ¥67.40 billion.
As one of Japan's major regional power providers, Shikoku Electric’s latest figures—prepared under Japanese accounting standards—reflect the complex headwinds facing the domestic energy sector. The utility continues to balance fluctuating input costs against a changing regulatory and demand environment in the Shikoku region.
