Michael Lou Takes Helm at Chord Energy as Production Forecast Rises

Lou brings 17 years of institutional history to the top job, having previously served as the company’s chief strategy officer and chief commercial officer. His background includes a tenure as finance chief and early experience in investment banking, providing a deep familiarity with the firm’s operational and financial mechanics. Brown is exiting the business to pursue an unnamed professional opportunity.

Simultaneously, the firm upgraded its production guidance, now projecting 290,500 to 290,900 barrels of oil equivalent per day for the third quarter. This represents a notable increase from the previous range of 277,700 to 284,000 barrels. According to Lou, the improved output stems from robust results across both new and existing assets, complemented by operational efficiencies that minimized downtime during the period.
