Chinese AI Suppliers Test Hong Kong IPO Market for $1.5 Billion

Two Chinese technology firms are testing investor resolve this week, launching Hong Kong share offerings that seek to raise $1.5 billion combined. The move comes as global markets grapple with intense volatility and mounting skepticism over the lofty valuations currently assigned to companies deeply embedded in the artificial intelligence supply chain.

Chinese AI Suppliers Test Hong Kong IPO Market for $1.5 Billion

Suzhou Dongshan Precision Manufacturing, a producer of printed circuit boards for AI hardware, leads the push with a target of approximately $1.4 billion. The company has already locked in cornerstone commitments for roughly half of its 113.8 million H-share offering, with backing from Alibaba’s investment arm, JPMorgan Asset Management, and Singapore-based Aurora SF. Meanwhile, industrial robot developer Changzhou Microintelligence is seeking to raise up to HK$799.9 million, with pricing set between HK$16.63 and HK$21.46 per share. Trading for both entities is slated to commence on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on October 28.

These listings arrive against a backdrop of regional market strength. Despite global economic anxieties, Hong Kong has emerged as the world's second-largest IPO hub this year, trailing only Nasdaq. According to recent data from KPMG, the city recorded HK$388 billion in proceeds over the first nine months—a record performance largely driven by mainland Chinese high-tech firms. Analysts suggest that if the current momentum holds, the city’s total annual proceeds could climb toward the HK$500 billion mark, potentially eclipsing the record set in 2010.
