The platform will open options trading for select single-stock and exchange-traded fund contracts two hours before the 9:30 a.m. ET opening bell and 15 minutes after the 4 p.m. ET market close. This schedule is designed to capture volatility triggered by overnight news and after-hours corporate disclosures.
Anthony Denier, Webull’s U.S. chief executive, noted that the expansion provides investors with tools better suited to the current market environment. The initial rollout features high-volume names such as Apple, Amazon, Nvidia, and Tesla, alongside the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust. This rollout follows similar initiatives from Cboe Global Markets and the New York Stock Exchange, which recently signaled plans to broaden their own options offerings. These changes coincide with a wider industry shift toward near-continuous trading, evidenced by the NYSE and Nasdaq’s upcoming move to extend stock and ETF trading to 23 hours a day starting December 6.
