O'Reilly Automotive Raises Sales Outlook After Strong Third Quarter

Driven by a 7.2% surge in third-quarter comparable store sales and a $39 million windfall from tariff refunds, O'Reilly Automotive has lifted its full-year performance outlook. The retailer now anticipates annual comparable store sales growth between 5.5% and 6.5%, comfortably outpacing previous analyst estimates of 5.5%.

O'Reilly Automotive Raises Sales Outlook After Strong Third Quarter

The company reported quarterly profit of $785.6 million, or 97 cents per share, marking a significant climb from the $725.9 million, or 85 cents per share, recorded in the same period last year. Total sales reached $5.12 billion, comfortably beating the $5.02 billion consensus expected by FactSet analysts. CEO Brad Beckham attributed the robust financial results to consistent top-line growth and the one-time benefit provided by tariff refunds.

Bolstered by these results, management revised its full-year gross margin guidance to between 51.6% and 52.1%, while profit margin projections were adjusted to a range of 19.5% to 20%. Expansion efforts remain aggressive, with 173 net new locations added across North America this year. The company remains on schedule to hit its target of 225 to 235 net new store openings by the end of 2026.
