Coinbase Executives Schedule Massive Stock Sales for 2026-2027

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, director Fred Ehrsam, and President Emilie Choi have adopted trading plans to sell approximately 13.6 million Class A shares. The prearranged sales, scheduled to commence between November 2026 and January 2027, are governed by Rule 10b5-1, which allows insiders to set transaction conditions in advance.

Armstrong’s plan accounts for the largest portion, covering up to 8.17 million shares acquired through the exercise of vested stock options. Sales under his arrangement are expected to span from November 16, 2026, through October 22, 2027. Meanwhile, Fred Ehrsam has set a plan for 3.87 million shares, sourced from the conversion of Class B common stock, with a trading window between December 2026 and June 2027. Emilie Choi’s schedule includes 1.56 million identified shares plus additional equity awards, with activity slated for 2027.

All three executives established these arrangements during an open trading window, adhering to internal policies and federal regulations that provide a defense against insider trading allegations. The final volume of shares sold remains contingent on specific price thresholds and market conditions defined within the agreements. Alongside these executive moves, Coinbase reported a third-quarter revenue decline of 35% to $1.22 billion, despite net income rising to $718.7 million due to unrealized crypto gains. The company also confirmed $1.96 billion remains available under its current $4 billion share repurchase authorization.
