SKY Perfect JSAT Reports 22% Surge in Nine-Month Net Profit

Tokyo-based satellite operator SKY Perfect JSAT Holdings Inc. posted a significant increase in profitability for the nine months ended Dec. 31, driven by higher revenue and improved operational efficiency. The company reported a net profit of 17.63 billion yen, up from 14.40 billion yen in the same period last year, according to its latest financial filing.

The company's revenue climbed to 93.33 billion yen, surpassing the 91.86 billion yen recorded during the previous fiscal year's first three quarters. This growth filtered down to the bottom line, with operating profit jumping to 26.52 billion yen, a sharp increase from the 21.29 billion yen reported a year earlier.

Profitability and Shareholder Value

Pretax profits also saw a substantial rise, reaching 26.94 billion yen compared to 21.19 billion yen in the prior period. These results, calculated under Japanese accounting standards, underscore a period of robust financial performance for the satellite and broadcasting firm.

On a per-share basis, earnings rose to 62.21 yen, up from 50.84 yen in 2024. The strong nine-month showing positions the Tokyo-listed company (9412.TO) favorably as it enters the final quarter of its fiscal year ending March 2025.
