Amkor Technology reported a sharp increase in fourth-quarter profit and revenue on Monday, outperforming Wall Street expectations as demand for semiconductor services remains robust. Amkor Technology Beats Q4 Estimates as Profits Surge 63%

The semiconductor packaging provider surpassed the 44 cents per share profit anticipated by analysts polled by FactSet. Revenue for the quarter ending Dec. 31 climbed 16% to $1.89 billion, also ahead of the $1.84 billion consensus forecast. This growth reflects a resilient position in the global chip supply chain despite broader macroeconomic fluctuations.

Optimistic Outlook for the First Quarter

Amkor issued guidance for the current quarter that suggests continued momentum. The company expects first-quarter revenue to reach approximately $1.6 billion, exceeding the $1.54 billion projected by market analysts. According to the company's financial report, management anticipates this trend to persist through the early months of the new fiscal year.

Management also provided the following financial targets for the upcoming period:

    • Earnings per share are projected to fall between 18 cents and 28 cents.
    • The guidance range brackets Wall Street’s current estimate of 22 cents per share.
    • Projected revenue remains ahead of historical seasonal expectations.
The results highlight Amkor’s ability to scale its semiconductor product and services portfolio amid a shifting technological landscape. As the industry looks toward the next cycle of chip production, the company’s performance serves as a key indicator for the health of the outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) market.
