The company’s drug, vopimetostat, is being studied in combination with Revolution Medicines' daraxonrasib to treat specific forms of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma and non-small cell lung cancer. Clinical data indicated an 82% objective response rate and a nine-month median progression-free survival rate of 88%. Despite these results, investigators identified three dose-limiting toxicities in two out of four patients at the second dose level. Additionally, 40% of patients at the first dose level experienced Grade 3 treatment-related adverse events.
Chief Executive Malte Peters noted that these findings align with earlier clinical data while providing a more extensive follow-up period. Following discussions with the Food and Drug Administration, Tango Therapeutics plans to launch a registrational Phase 3 trial in the first half of 2027. Peters maintains that PRMT5 inhibition remains a viable backbone for future combination therapies despite the current safety setbacks.
